PROCEDURE
-
WATER BASED SEALANT
- Sand floors firstly with a 30 grid paper, followed by sanding with 60 grid paper and finally with 100 grid paper.
- Floors are then swept with a fine broom and vacuumed to clean dust from surface followed by application of 1 primer coat & two top coats of Bona Water Based Sealer, a fully imported product, compliant with international health standards and is harder wearing than a polyurethane sealer. Floors are buffed with a 250 grit scouring pad between coats to allow bonding.
- Drying time for first 2 coats approximately an hour each, final coat approximately 4 hours dependant on ambient conditions.
- Products are available in either a satin or gloss finish. A sealed floor needs to wiped down with a damp mop as and when necessary.
PROCEDURE - POLYURETHANE BASED SEALANT
- Sand floors firstly with a 30 grid paper, followed by sanding with 60 grid paper and finally with 100 grid paper.
- Floors are then swept with a fine broom and vacuumed to clean dust from surface followed by application of 1 primer coat & two top coats of Bourne Gleem polyurethane sealer which is chemically based. Floors are buffed with a 250 grit scouring pad between coats to allow bonding.
- Drying time for first two coats approximately an hour each, final coat approximately 4 hours dependant on ambient conditions.
- Products are available in either a satin or gloss finish. A sealed floor needs to wiped down with a damp mop as and when necessary
